Seeing God's Hand in the Details with Heather Zent

Heather Zent, a student and coach, brings her positive energy and life-affirming perspective to the 'Unlocking Divinity' podcast with Emma Gwilliam. She doesn't recount a singular, standout spiritual epiphany but instead speaks of countless 'tender mercies' that have confirmed God's presence in her life. A testament to her faith, Heather shares moments where she felt guided, whether it was through a blessing from an unfamiliar church brother or teaching an unexpected believer during her mission in Montreal. Her story about the uneventful meeting at a bus stop that led to a profound spiritual journey for an acquaintance underlines how God operates in the minutiae—little sparks of inspiration and connection that shape the larger narrative of faith. Heather’s views acknowledge the unpredictability of life post-mission as something to embrace rather than fear, finding strength and clarity in trusting God's plan. Her testimony is a reminder that while God may not alter life's immediate challenges, He assures His presence through the support and love of others. This episode of 'Unlocking Divinity' is a reflection on faith found in the smallest particulars, inspiring listeners to seek God’s hand in their daily routines.

From Santo Domingo to Provo: Carrying Missionary Fire Into Everyday Life

Returning from a mission does not bring the mission home with you. That is the honest problem at the center of this Unlocking Divinity episode with Susanna Cameron, a Rexburg, Idaho native now living in Provo while studying history at BYU. Her communication style is plain, warm, and self-aware. She says things directly, admits what is hard, and lets small phrases do real work. The episode turns on a quieter question: what happens to missionary fire when the schedule disappears? Back at BYU in January 2025, Susanna found herself in a Provo apartment complex where she knew only one friend and most people already know each other. A Relief Society calling as second counselor gave her a way to know every single girl in her ward, but the deeper lesson was smaller than a calling. She decided that when she saw someone she knew on campus or around town, she was going to say hi. Faith became less about dramatic moments and more about prayer, scripture, ward service, measurable goals, and noticing people on ordinary days. Susanna's Keys for Unlocking Divinity - Say hi to everyone you know - Hold to the basics - Magnify your calling
